Your Questions, Answered

  • Each piece is made to order.
Production takes between 2 weeks and 1 month.

This time allows the material to be shaped slowly, without constraint, respecting the rhythm of the process.

  • Yes.

We can create custom pieces, developed in dialogue with you.
Each custom project follows the same approach — organic, intuitive, and shaped by hand.

No custom piece is designed through rigid drawings.
It is built progressively, through material and gesture.

  • Yes, we ship worldwide.

  • Once your piece is ready, it is carefully packaged and shipped.

  • A Reliquat piece is conceived as a fragment of time — something to be worn, kept, and passed on.
Each creation is imagined as a mineral sculpture, where form is not imposed but revealed through the material.

No piece is purely decorative. Each one carries a presence, shaped by gesture, time, and transformation.

    What makes your jewelry unique?

Our pieces are shaped using an ancestral Japanese technique called mitsuro hikime.

This rare process consists of sculpting jewelry from a blend of beeswax and bread, allowing the material to be stretched, pulled, and transformed by hand.

This is what gives our pieces their organic, irregular, and living forms — no line is perfectly controlled, and no shape can be exactly reproduced.

Each piece is the result of movement, pressure, and instinct.

All Reliquat pieces are entirely handmade in Portugal, in a European atelier.

We work closely with skilled artisans who perpetuate traditional techniques, ensuring that each piece is crafted with precision and care.

There is no industrial production — only slow, manual work.

    Are all pieces identical?

    No.
Due to the nature of the mitsuro hikime technique, each piece is inherently unique.

Variations in shape, texture, and detail are not imperfections — they are what make each relic singular.

  • As each piece is made to order and created specifically for you, returns are limited.

However, if you experience any issue, please contact us at contact@reliquatparis.com — we will always do our best to find a fair solution.

  • Each Reliquat piece is handmade and should be worn with care.

We recommend avoiding prolonged contact with water, perfumes, cosmetics, or chemicals, as these can alter the surface over time.

When not worn, store your piece in a dry place, ideally in its pouch.

Your jewelry is designed to live with you — but like any crafted object, it benefits from attention.

  • Vermeil is a technique where a thick layer of gold is applied over a sterling silver base.

It allows us to create pieces with the appearance of gold while preserving a lighter structure and a more accessible approach.

At Reliquat, vermeil evolves over time, revealing subtle variations that are part of the life of the piece.

  • This is a natural process.

Our pieces are not designed to remain fixed — they evolve with time, friction, and contact with the skin.

The patina reflects how the piece has been worn, making it more personal.

This transformation is not a flaw, but part of its character.

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to gently clean your piece.

Avoid abrasive products or aggressive cleaning methods.

If needed, we can assist with professional cleaning.

  • Oxidation is a natural reaction of metals over time.

It can be reduced with gentle cleaning or professional care.

If you prefer, we can restore the piece for you.
